"Caves" is misnomer. You get to see what is in the picture, that's it. There is no need to get out of the car to "see" this place. Not worth the exhorbitant Goa taxi fares. Only saving grace of going so far is the waterfall nearby.

The place has a very good old stone carved caves Few meter away is the beautiful waterfall named harvalem waterfall

Archaeological site. Was being restored. When you stroll down further say about 100 yards down to right you will find a newly constructed or renovated Shiva Temple. Right in front of you is the calmly flowing water with shallow river bed, may be due to off-season! Looking to your left and above you will find a roaring waterfall! The water falling from some 300 - 500 feet above from the hill top, has made a huge round hole on the rock face, due to millennium corrosion and falls into hole and down! Awesome site! A visit during the rains or soon after, might be mind blowing! There are steps to your left which takes you towards the waterfall, to as much near and safe as could be! It's a steep climb though! Not many know of this site nor many visitors! In all the site was tranquille and serene!

It seems the Church nearby has encroached the caves. Even after asking the local people and the shopkeepers, we couldn't see or reach the caves. Only a wall near to the pictorial description can be seen. The rest is only the houses and the Church.
