This is the perfect combo tour. You will get to learn all about the whales of Iceland at a state of the art museum and interactive learning center. Then head out to sea on a boat tour to see Icelandic wildlife in its natural habitat on the whale watching portion of your tour.
While out in the bay looking at the whales, you might not fully understand how amazingly big these animals are.
So either before or after the tour we recommend stopping by at the Whales of Iceland exhibition on the other side of the harbour to get a feeling for how small we humans are compared to the ocean wildlife.
On the Whale Watching tour we sail out to Faxaflói bay where we search for the common whales in the area, such as Humpback whales, Minke whales, White-beaked dolphins and Harbour porpoises. We get a feeling of their behavior in the wild.
At Whales of Iceland, the largest whale exhibition in Europe all 23 species that can be found in the surrounding waters of Iceland are shown in real size, and you learn many interesting facts about the whales and their history.
