Set out for fun on the waters as you sail out of Grundarfjörður to the protected island of Melrakkaey – a haven for all sorts of sea birds. Then as you head back to port, grab a fishing rod and try your hand at sea-angling.
We head out for the nearby island, Melrakkaey, a nature reserve where many birds nest, such as puffins, shags, cormorants, kittiwakes and more. We sail close to the cliffs to get the best view and to photograph these beautiful ocean birds.
Then we move into deeper waters for some sea-angling. Each passenger is given a fishing rod to try to hook a fish or two and for this, all necessary fishing equipment is provided. It is all action and excitement on board as the thrill of the chase is felt with passengers trying to catch a big one.
The guides are always watching out for whales and if any are spotted, we´ll head towards them for a closer look.
Season is from 1st June to 20th August.
All angling equipment included.
All are welcome on this tour!
You need to dress warmly for all our tours! In the winter, several layers of clothes are strongly advised, as well as gloves, scarf, hat, and winter shoes.
On our winter trips, we will provide you with overalls to put over your winter clothes.
In the summer you also need to dress warmly, and bring gloves, hats, and scarves as well.
We sometimes go out on an open boat with no major indoor facilities, so it is your responsibility to dress according to three cold hours on sea.
