A day trip that takes you to the so-called Golden Circle (Gullfoss Waterfall, Thingvellir National Park and Geysir). The itinerary also includes going to a geothermal hot pool called The Secret Lagoon.
Main Sights: Þingvellir National Park, Secret Lagoon hot spring nature bath, Gullfoss waterfall, Geysir hot spring.
During June and July, you are able to experience the beauty of the midnight sun. The sun does not set completely, leaving famous landmarks basking in the golden light. Let our knowledgeable local guide take you on a unique journey to Iceland’s most popular destination – the Golden Circle.
The sites we will explore together are Thingvellir National Park, Haukadalur geothermal area, Gullfoss “The Golden Waterfall” and Secret Lagoon. Visit the place of the world’s first parliament – Althingi (Alþingi)– at Thingvellir (Þingvellir) National Park. Eurasian and North American tectonic plates can be seen here, slowly drifting apart from each other. Haukadalur valley brings earth to life! Geysers are on display here, as one of only 5 countries in the world where you can see them. Strokkur (old Geyser’s younger brother) erupts every 5-10 minutes, so keep your cameras ready!
The golden waterfall Gullfoss will take your breath away as you walk alongside its cascades.
On our Midnight Sun Golden Circle tour, you will also have an opportunity to act like a local, by visiting one of Iceland’s oldest swimming pools – Secret Lagoon (Gamla Laugin) and dipping yourself in its hot springs. The entrance fee for the pool is included in the price. Please bring your swimsuit and towel (both can be rented if forgotten).
