Golden circle complete.
A complete sightseeing tour around the Golden Circle. Our first stop of the day after your pick-up from your accommodation in Reykjavík is at Kerid crater, a beautiful crater with a big pond on the bottom. Next up is one of the highlights of the Golden Circle, Geysir hot spring, where you can expect to see Strokkur geyser erupt every 10 minutes or so. Around this time we stop for lunch at a local place. After exploring the geothermal fields, we continue to Gullfoss Waterfall. It's one of Iceland's most famous waterfalls, located in Hvítá river.
Right inbetween Geysir and Gullfoss waterfall there is a local fram called Brú, we'll make a short stop there and you'll have the opportunity to pet and greet the famous Icelandic horse. After meeting up with the horses and exploring Geysir and Gullfoss, we continue along the Golden Circle and drive through Lake Laugarvatn, known for the geothermal springs below the small village. From Laugarvatn we go to our final stop of the Golden Circle, the UNESCO heritage site at Thingvellir National Park. It's both known for historically as the founding site of the Icelandic parliament back in 930 AD and the place where two tectonic plates of Eurasia and North America drift apart. After the Golden Circle we'll drop you off at your accommodation in Reykjavík.
