A stunning and awe-inspiring hike up Bjarnafell. This is one of Iceland’s lesser known mountains and a true hidden gem, located west of the famous Geysir in the Golden Circle.
Ever dreamed of hiking in the wilds of Iceland with a local guide who can give you a real insight into this enchanting country? Look no further than this hike up the magnificent Bjarnafell. Situated just on the doorstep of Langjökull and Jarlhettur, Bjarnafell is a small peak reaching roughly 700 metres above sea level.
Our hike begins approximately 100 metres above sea level and then winds its way up to the summit. The total distance covered by this hike is about 9km. Depending on the physical level of participants and the weather, we will take some nice breaks on our way up.
Duration of the trip: The total duration of the hike is about 4 hours when starting in Reykholt.
This is a hiking tour. Participants need to be moderately fit and ready for 5-6 hours of outdoor activities. Weather can change swiftly in Iceland, please be prepared for an adventure.
