Below The Mountains
Saddle up for a ride to remember as you trot along on Iceland's mystical horses amongst the towering mountains and the pacifying sounds of the ocean.
What to expect?
Discover the beautiful landscape opening up between the mountains and sea in southern Iceland. We ride along the Gljúfurá river to the banks of the Ölfusá river, with views of the famous volcanos Hekla and Eyjafjallajökull, weather permitting. We stop for a lunch break before continuing our ride towards the mountains and along Mt. Reykjafjall, where both sheep and horses graze in the summer. Awaiting us back at our farm are coffee and home-baked cake. During the winter season, we stop at our hotel for steaming bowls of traditional Icelandic meat soup before continuing our ride towards the mountains.
What is included?
Pick up and drop off, 5-6 hours riding 20 km, lunch included (lunch box or meat soup), coffee and cake after the tour. We provide helmets and rain gear/winter overalls.
What do I need to bring?
Please wear clothes according to weather and solid shoes. We recommend hiking boots.
