Absolutely one of the best small museums I have ever visited with almost real Vikings in there natural settings. And everyone can don Viking helmets, chain mail or clokes to take pictures. Really interesting.

Loved the audio tour but did not like how parties could not experience the audio tour at the same time. Each individual is subject to the tour in the order each headset is given. Regardless, it's still one of the best meuseums in the city.

The Saga museum is basically a wax Museum that tells the tales of the first settlers, fishermen, chieftains, witches, the black plague and much more. If you want to learn more about the history of Iceland and its inhabitants, then you will truly enjoy this museum. You'll be equipped with an audio guide which gives you a detailed explanation of every wax figure you encounter. At the end you can have some fun and dress up like a Viking, grab some props like a sword and shield and take pictures with the smiling Viking. Oh and by the way, the guy sitting down watching the movie...he is not real but at first glance he scared me lol. I highly recommend giving this place a visit if you love museums.

More like 3.5 stars, but whose counting? This strange mix of wax museum, LARPing, & real museum (plus gift shop of course) really brings out the nerds. It was great to hear the history in a language I understood-it was okay to see the actions shots brought to life in wax, it wasn't gonna happen when it came time for me to dress up and reenact them myself. But this might totally be your gig!

It's a good museum if you're interested in the Icelandic sagas. It is a hall with wax figures and you have to go through with an audio guide. The most fun thing about it was the room before the museum where you could dress up as a Viking, complete with helmet, sword, shield and spear
