My boyfriend and I stayed in a private room with Loft Hostel and had a wonderful experience. It's extremely clean, reasonable pricing, great location and friendly staff. Kasia helped us with check in, navigating the city, and getting a taxi in the morning. Could not have been more enjoyable. I would recommend it to anyone.
We love the vibe at the bar here, nice and relaxed with chill music playing in the background. Even better during the hours from 4pm to 8pm which is happy hour. Seating area on the roof terrace to catch some sun (if you're lucky with the weather!). Well worth a visit.
One of the best hostels I have ever stayed at! The staff is extremely friendly and nice. They have great tips about the city. It's very clean. They always have some nice event at night. It is a good thing, specially when the weather is bad. When I arrived there, there was a pocket show that was really good. There were also watercolor painting class, the teacher was so nice! I didn't know anything about, but she really helped and explained the basics. This hostel definitely made my stay in Reykjavik better. I met a lot of great people there also. The location is great also. There's a bus stop one block away, really close to the harpa, the famous church and city Hall and good restaurants.
Great breakfast value. Nice space, nice room, not overstuffed. Bathroom to each dorm exclusively. Roof terrace. Spacious. Respectful people, earplugs only needed for the street party.
This was one of the nicer hostels Ive ever stayed at. You are given a comforter and have a shower and toilet in the actual bedroom instead of dorm style. BEWARE though that if you are staying there over the weekend to bring ear plugs. You can hear and feel the club music until 4am Friday/ Saturday nights and can hear all the commotion from the drunks on the street. The staff here was super friendly and safe. One night I came back late to the hostel after hours and a guy from a bar had followed me (not a threat, we became buddies at the bar) and the night desk worker came down to make sure I was safe from him. I was safe
