Reykjadalur, Iceland
Nice place to visit. Walk to it is mostly up hill, sturdy footwear advised along with plenty of water and food. Takes about an hour to get to from the "Googled car park".
A good 3-4 km in. The trail is fairly steep but doable. Take breaks if you need. Once you get over the final hill you see the geothermal springs before you and it's amazing. Wear your bathing suit under your clothes, as there are no private changing rooms, just small fences open to the public. Bring picnic and enjoy!
Well worth the hike up, was so windy on the path but well sheltered in the water. Went middle October. Getting out wasn't actually as bad as I thought with coldness. Perfect temperature in the stream, def something to experience at least once. There were quite a few people turned around before they got to the stream (it is a long enough hike up), but make sure to persevere and go in!
Good scenic hike. Amazing water temperature. Picturesque surroundings. Head to the top end for the hottest water! Don't miss this paradise, and it's free!!
It’s a little hike to get there - it took us about 45minutes. However it worth it. Bring with you a bottle of water as you will need it, the river is really warm! Maybe about 40C. When it’s rainy it’s so refreshing to be sitting there!
