Aðalstræti 10, 101 Reykjavík, Iceland
Do not follow Google Maps as a WALKING trail. It takes you to the waterfall parking lot but the route has you walk along the highway and you get to the top of the falls. You can't really see much so it's kind of a waste of time. Better to drive further and go to the parking lot of the bottom of the falls.
Oxararfoss was one of the places we were able to see on our short layover in Iceland a few years ago. It took us some time to find where to park and then make the trek to the waterfall, but it was definitely worth the wait. Our suggestion for anyone who hasn't visited Iceland before is to bring winter clothing, even during the summer - we were surprised by brief whiteout blizzards and freezing weather!
It's part of the National park. Easy hiking trails, there Is a cafe, toilets and visitor centre at the beginning.
What originally was too be a quick photo stop turned into an amazing hike through one of the rifts in the continental plates. The hidden waterfalls were gorgeous!
It's located inside the Thingevelir National park. Very easy walk from P2 parking
