Búðir, 356 Snæfellsbær, Iceland
Beautiful setting, good food and drinks, very rustic-chic. My only complaint would be that our top floor room was too hot without the window open, and when it was open, the strong wind would shake it and the door loud enough to wake us, causing a near-sleepless night. However, we were there at the height of an unusually warm summer, and the wind is famously strong. A quieter way to ventilate the room would be nice.
Spent the night before and the night if our wedding there... Was a beautiful hotel, great views, and a nice restaurant downstairs. Will definitely go back on a return to to Iceland!
All by itself, but... This is such an unassuming hotel from the outside but situated in an extraordinary setting. The inside is warm, inviting and comfortable with a touch of class. Lovely decor. Gracious service and so welcoming. We had coffee, which was served perfectly - hot tasty coffee with hot whole milk. Yum. The lunch, which we observed others enjoying ranged from burgers to Icelandic dishes. Give this place a shot, you are bound to like it.
Fantastic experience Beautiful venue overlooking sea, beach, black chapel on one side and other side is the Glacier, waterfalls and mountains Staff very good, efficient and helpful Rooms are all beautiful We had 3 course Chefs Special - special fish soup, Lamb fillet and White chocolate mousse
A lovely countryside getaway. Advice: book more than one night, and take your time; explore the pathways around the hotel; check out the secret-ish witchcraft store next-door that’s open just a few hours a day.
