I had a lot of questions that I found difficult to find before visiting Costco in Iceland. They take all credit cards (unlike Canada/USA) and they have a great cafeteria. The prices are still expensive as everywhere else in Iceland but it is far less busy than Costco visits I’m used to in Canada.

Well, it's a Costco. It's not any different than the ones in the US. I thought maybe they'd have some bulk items to take back home as gifts (the Costco in Hawaii does) but no luck here. Good hot dogs in the cafeteria area.

Costco felt more spread out then ones in the US making it feel less crowded then it actually was.

Great to be able to stock up on cheaper food and drinks for your road trip, and also buy cheaper fuel too. The snack bar is also one of the cheapest places to eat on the island, so hopefully you enjoy a diet of hot dogs, pizza and sundaes! Just beware that as a tourist you are not allowed to buy alcohol for some reason, so buy what you need in the arrivals hall at the airport. We tried to enter the alcohol area in Costco but the staff shooed us out and pointed to the sign in Icelandic below, although we had no idea what it said but got the gist you had to be a local to buy!

I have not experienced such rude customer service before. At the cashier, we were rudely told not to put our products for purchase on the belt the way we did, as it creates "more work" for her to scan it. Dear, you have one job. It's to scan groceries. Deal with it. We were not the only ones she had some rude commentary for, the people in line after us didn't fit her high standards for shopping either. And the attitude was just through the roof, not a single smile, walking around taking deep breaths with hands over her head looking at everyone as if we are idiots. I would understand if we were throwing cucumbers her way or making a mess. It was nothing like that. Very unprofessional and plain disgusting attitude.
