Grandagarður 2, 101 Reykjavík, Iceland
Amazing exhibition! Starting with folklore tales and legends from different countries, continuing to a very detailed scientific explanations of the northern lights (we are two physics graduates and we enjoyed it very much). Then you see a lot of pictures and videos of the lights in a calming dark room. At the end there are advises on how to catch the lights and even how to photograph it (using either a phone or a DSLR). Before leaving you can experience a VR of the lights which was very special. Definitely worth a visit!!
Interesting exhibition on the phenomenon of Northern Lights. Many different ways of looking at it. The scientific explanation was the most interesting part. Also a nice shop with gifts around the Northern Lights theme.
Great experience. Well laid out and very informative. Very helpful staff too
It is a cool museum but not a must. Thr staff was super friendly and the exhibition super clean and organized. If you plan to see the lights a nice tip is to come to this museum first and then go see it by yourself.
This is a must see when in Reykjavik for any Astronomy and Northern Lights enthusiast to learn so much about the science and world culture history related to Aurora Borealis! I was met with the nicest gentleman who helped explain the museum and the really unique goggles to have a 4D type visual. So glad I stumbled upon this walking to another museum, and I highly recommend it!
