Guided tours are nice but saving money by doing stuff on your own is even better. There are in fact a lot of activities you can do for free in Iceland, such as hiking, sight-seeing and bathing in natural pools.

For this list, I chose all kinds of activities that have one thing in common: They are free. It's easy to spend all your savings on booked tours and day trips but exploring on your own is usually a lot cheaper.
