Nice view of the city and especially after sunset 🌅 The only annoying thing is the crowded balconies. It is kind of impossible to enjoy the view 😂 Some people are literally taking the same pictures with each window 😅

A lovely and fantastically decorated church on the Buda hill with spectacular views across the city. Inside every inch of the church is painted with elaborate patterns and images. There is also an upstairs balcony which is not well signposted and accessed through a doorway to the left, at the front of the church. It gives great views down into the church and contains an excellent historical display. Photography is allowed. As with many churches in Budapest you should be dressed modestly to enter, shoulders covered and no micro length skirts of shorts, they will provide shawls otherwise for a small charge. One of the must see locations in Budapest. Outside is the Fisherman's Bastion from where you get the city views. This is a separate ticket and there can be queues.

A very beautifully decorated church on the Buda hill. The building is a joy to see and experience, both from the inside and outside. There are beautiful patterns and colors on its roof and everywhere inside. There's a small fee to enter but it's well worth it.

Matthias Church (which is officially named the Church of the Assumption of the Buda Castle) is a Catholic church located in Buda's Castle District, directly in front of the Fisherman's Bastion. Beside the church is a statue of St Stephen, the king of Hungary who founded the church on this site in 1015; the current building was built in the fourteenth century. As is the case with many churches from this era, the interior is simply breathtaking and should not be missed.

Matthias Church has a special energy, special atmosphere. It's fascinating any time of the year. Majestically towering on Buddha hill.If one take a walk there and from there instead of a car on a stairs with greenery around it makes the journey more special
