Heiðrún Ósk:Not so much secret any longer but still amazing, I recommend going there during the week and early morning, when it's not as busy and packed with tourists
Heiðrún Ósk:Some of my favorite restaurants in Reykjavík are on this list so I can definitely recommend this. Not cheap but nothing in Iceland is, but often there are some good offers
Heiðrún Ósk:Close to my house is the heart of the city, Ellidarardalur, takes only 5 minutes to walk from my home to get to this gem. You can feed the rabbits, jump into a small waterfall (krakkafoss) in a good weather or simply have a nice family picnic by the river.
Heiðrún Ósk:If you want to go hiking with the family then you can bring everyone on top Úlfarsfell. My three year old can walk to the top and you have a wonderful view over the City
Heiðrún Ósk:You want to experience the old days in Iceland then visit Àrbæjarsafn. Quaint old buildings have been uprooted from their original sites and rebuilt at the Árbæjarsafn. Amazing to see how people in Iceland used to live. This is fun for the whole family and you can have a coffee and cake or waffles there in one of the old building.
