Itinerary
Stop At: The Port Naxos overlooking the town hall, Naxos 843 00, Greece
- First stop is the small village of Damalas, where we can visit a traditional ceramics workshop and a restored traditional olive press.
Stop At: Panagia Drosiani, Epar.Od. Chalkiou-Keramotis, Drimalia 843 02, Greece
- We continue through the fertile valley of Tragaia and we stop at the village Halki with the interesting Byzantine church of Panagia Protothroni and the citrus distillery. Then we visit the Byzantine church of Panagia Drosiani, near the village of Moni, a monument of the early Christian period with interesting frescoes, which is considered to be one of the oldest in the Balkans.
Stop At: The Archaeological Museum of Apiranthos, Apeiranthos 84300 Greece
- The next stop will be the Apiranthos with its marble-paved alleys. Apiranthos has 4 interesting museums. The Archaeological Museum, the Geological with approximately 2,000 exhibits, the Natural History Museum with the area’s fauna, flora and a small aquarium, and the Folklore, one with traditional fabrics. We will then take lunch at the local tavernas. On the way back, we visit Florio, Melanes. The ancient archaic marble quarry is to be visited with the statue of Kouros and the archaic aqueduct.
