Couldn't manage to get our Spartiates off, lost too many Helots. Would not recommend unless you have 200 triremes.

Paddling to the island ( also called Tsichli baba ) is a wonderful experience. Be careful about the weather though, winds and waves can be quite chalenging in Greece.

If one is in the parts of Pylos or Gialova one should visit Sfaktiria Island. Island of the battles between the Greeks and the Turkish-Egyptian army in 1821. Visit the monument of Santaroza who fought with Mavrokordatos on the right a short distance is the Greek and Russian church where they were built in memory of those who fought in the naval battle of Navarre. The Russian church is wooden, you go through hatches to go up where the view is unique. Boat access only.
