Leoforos Vasilisis Amalias 50, Athina 105 58, Greece
I agree with some of the reviews. Nice Arch, worthy of a quick visit. Unfortunately we didn't have long, but it was nice and central, and some great photos taken. Athens is quite condensed and you can see a lot in a day. Wish we had longer, only 3 hours. Nice historical monument
If you are heading to Temple of Zeus you will definitely find Hadrian's arch. It had to look better in ancient times. Arch is located next to road for cars. It means you have to wait to take a perfect picture.
Did not go in but did take photos from outside the iron fence. Stunning! Think: no rotary tools, no diamond studded cutting blades, no hydraulic or pneumatic tools. It not only got done it has survived two centuries. This is a GoyoGTO must see. Please consider giving me a ‘like’ for the review.
It's nice and it's free. Directly behind is Zeus temple which you can snap some pictures as well or pay to go visit inside. So far many of the places we've visited (France, Spain, Mexico City, now Greece) have a type of arch, so I enjoy seeing one in each country.
Large historical landmark, easy to walk to from Syntagma Square. Free to visit all the time.
