So my husband and I decided to spend our last day in Athens at Asteras Beach, despite some of the negative reviews. Unfortunately I have to add to it. Let me state the pros first - during the weekday it is 5€ to enter, and with that fee you do have access to chairs and umbrellas which are fine. We came on Thursday afternoon so it wasn’t too crowded. The water was fine, you have to swim out a bit because it’s shallow but it was nice. The restaurant however makes no sense. They gave us this fine dining menu which we didn't really care for as we were on the beach. There was a sushi option, however we were told that it was only available after 7pm. Anyway we ordered a calamari appetizer for 10.50€ which obviously didn’t curb our appetite. Im not saying don’t come. But if you are maybe buy something to eat on your way here. The drinks were okay not great but not bad either. Service sucked too.

This beach is awesome! On weekdays it was not crowded at all, it's not expensive (5 Euros-in 2019), clean, it has free umbrellas and sun beds, restaurants, lockers, everything. When you enter the water, you need to walk about 100 meters just to get to a depth in which you can properly swim but this was a plus for me. This is a great place for kids and also adults as well. I can totally recommend it.

Again been coming here over a decade and for some reason this year its horrendous 80s power ballads on repeat. So depressing and totally ruins the great atmosphere this beach used to have. Its clean good entry but the music has spoilt the experience here! Think I will find somewhere else to go next year!

This beach used to be my family's favorite beach, but this time the water seemed dirty. When my son got stung by a jellyfish, we packed it up and called it a day. We won't be going back. The beach bar/restaurant is really nice, though.

Cool place...Nice view..beach is spotless..and service very good. Enjoy !
