Paid 4 euros for entry as some exhibitions were under construction. For that price you should go for sure. The stuff was extremely helpful and could speak English. I put 4 stars because the exhibitions were limited. I manly liked the photography one. You can see in my review plenty of photos from that exhibition. There were desks where you can sit and chill with plenty of photobooks.

I love modern arts, and this one is one of my fav! Not only it is located right in front of the lake, where u can see the sunset, but also the arts inside are super nice, tickets are not expensive, definitely worth a visit! I spent 2-3 hours inside :) *** great ace for cool pics too!!!

Overall it was a good museum. However, the staff were not very helpful. Unfortunately, the English documents were insufficient, I would like more detailed information about the museum and collections. Maybe I'm the problem, we went at the wrong collection time.

Sprengel Museum is a museum of modern art in Hanover, Lower Saxony, holding one of the most significant collections of modern art in Germany. It is located in a building situated adjacent to the Masch Lake approximately 150 metres south of the state museum. The museum opened in 1979, and the building, designed by Peter and Ursula Trint and Dieter Quast , was extended in 1992. Bernhard Sprengel donated his extensive collection of modern art to the city of Hanover in 1969, as well as financially supporting the construction of the museum. The city of Hanover and the state of Lower Saxony agreed to operate the museum jointly. In addition to the works donated by Sprengel, the museum also houses 20th century artworks owned by Lower Saxony and Hanover.

Excellent collection, well presented. Friendly helpful staff. We went on a Friday, with our discount card ready, and found it was free entry on Fridays. Had a nice lunch on the terrace with a view of the rowing lake.
