Beautiful outdoor memorial (try to visit it when the weather is nice!). This memorial is quite large and it’s like an outdoor history museum. There’s a lot of interesting information worth reading, seeing and listening so make sure you have enough time to see it all. I’d recommend to start at the old cemetery area and then head north-east. They offer complete information and details of the construction of the wall and it’s very moving. Totally worth seeing if you like history and would like to understand a bit of Germany’s history.

Well maintained place with interesting and touching stories about the people and the wall. The museum is free of charge and offers a nice exposition and all the facts about the history of the wall. Viewing platform at the top of the museum offers a glimpse of the feeling of how strange and artificial yet real it was... Well worth a visit.

This was a great learning experience! At first glance from the street, the memorial looks ordinary - the remnants of the wall and an array of iron bars to show how the wall once stood. But once you read the stories of individuals and families - both successful and not, you begin to experience the sense of desperation and hardship that resulted from the forced partition of Berlin. The historical maps help place you back in time at that location and you can imagine what the streets are buildings looked like then. The key to a great experience here is to spend time walking along the wall, reading the displays and trying to imagine what life was like then.

As a tourist this is a nice outdoor visit. I would recommend it. It is nice and let's you get really close to the wall, and one of the guard towers is preserved. The remains stretches quite far. Nearby there is a nice exhibition about the time and events surrounding the wall, with a staircase leading up to a position from where to view the whole area.

Just a fun wee bit of history like walking through time, each new mural painting another picture because it is a painting. A big painting on a wall. A big mad painting on a big mad Berlin Wall in Berlin of course. Some are really cool some are really touching some are fun.
