I'm all for a good cozy bookstore. However, the amount of tourist is this small oddly shaped bookstore is too much in order to completely enjoy the true ambiance. One thing that I was delightfully surprised to see was a bookstore cat! This just made the experience worth the crowds! I adore cats especially in bookstores. The store doesn't allow photos but I was able to snag a quick picture of a sign indicating the store supports the zero waste movement! Support for the environment is much appreciated!

Cool bookstore with a great selection of books. There's a lot of nostalgia in here... you'll wish for the old days of bookstores and cafes. But wait! Did I mention the great cafe right next door?! Go to Shakespeare and Company a pleasant afternoon of reading, a great cup of coffee and snack, and some nostalgia...you'll be glad you did.

Coming to Shakespeare and co was definitely cool as an American in Paris. The place is a cultural landmark and a dream spot for people that are into literature. The shelves are stuffed to the brim, the inside feels like a fun mystery, and most people in there are as enchanted as you are. However it is packed out basically 24/7, and upstairs there is a group space. The group space would be a cool addition, however the person in charge of the writing workshop going on the day we were there was incredibly rude and basically closed off a section of the books that went beyond his space so he could "have more oxygen."

Really cute place but too tight to each seats. Though I didn’t try it, the smell of their sweets is wonderful. Coffee tastes too bitter and less flavor. Can be fine with milk I guess.
