Château, 41250 Chambord, France
Just stunning and i mean stunning. i just could not get over the level of detail and achievement of this place especially when you consider what they have done on the top of it. There is a relative amount of parking and the car park is quite close to the entrance. Its is a pay when you leave system but not expensive. The grounds are free to enter with only the Chateau itself costing to enter. This suited us as we had the dog with us. There are several eateries just past the main entrance and around to the right of the chateau. What’s on offer is more than reasonable with a slight tourist hike in prices but nothing unreasonable. There are also several other local goods shops and the like which have some quality items for sale (not just the usual cheap tourist trinkets that you would expect to find at an historic site). If you there on a hot day and you which to go for a walk, take water, as some of the walks can take some time in the heat. This is an amazing place and for only the price of parking you can enjoy some amazing grounds with only entry to the main building costing additional.
Am impressive castle to say the least. The gardens were lovely and the famous staircase was interesting to see. We only had a few hours to spend here so we were unable to explore past the castle and gardens.
Absolutely amazing!!!! History, beautiful palace and great wine. If you like all of these just plan at least a half day. I could easily spend an entire weekend exploring the entire place.
One of the most prestigious castles of the French Loire valley. Impressing building in the centre of a massive park. Beautiful biking road to get to the castle (we're visiting the region by bicycle - extremely nice rural roads and all well signposted)! Recommended!
A fantastic spot to stay over. The chateau is visible from the motor home pitches, and lit up at night it's stunning! We will be back.
