Family vacations in Iceland

Arinbjörn:I hate to start my tour and excursions guide with this transportation option, but everyone needs to get from the airport somehow and if you do not have a rental car then I have to recommend taking the flybus. I usually recommend buying this tour and taking a taxi from the BSÍ bus terminal to your final destination.

Arinbjörn:From Reykjavík - Great tour with possible sightings of Humpback Whales, Dolphins, Minke Whales and more. Highly recommend adding the admission to Whales of Iceland to your booking.

Arinbjörn:From South East - Explore the Icelandic glaciers in the magnificent Vatnajökull National Park! All technical equipment provided and no experience needed.

Arinbjörn:Golden Circle route - A warm natural pool but the admission is a little high compared to what you get. Still a great place to visit if you are in the area.

Arinbjörn:Probably the most popular burger place in Reykjavík, you can also find this one in London, Berlin and some other cities, but this is the original one!

Arinbjörn:The local classic hot dog with a shorter line than the stand in downtown Reykjavík. Same quality though. The french hot dog and dressing is also really good.

Arinbjörn:Abselutelly the best place for Icelandic fish. A selection of great dishes served on hot pans. I guarantee that you are going to be impressed!

Arinbjörn:When driving the famous golden circle route then would always recommend this place for lunch!!! Freshly baked bread and the best tomato soup in the world made from the tomatoes grown in the greenhouse the restaurant is located in. I recommend making a reservation!!!

Arinbjörn:South Iceland - A great place for a hike with a warm spring to take a bath in. Recommend walking up from Hveragerði. 30 min drive from Reykjavík and about 4-6 hour long hike with the bath.

Arinbjörn:South Iceland - A magnificent black sand beach in the south with extraordinary rock formations all around. Make sure to not go to close to the waves as they are very, very dangerous!!!

Arinbjörn:South Iceland - The Icelandic Alps, great hiking paths, outlet glaciers and the highest peak in Iceland make this one of the most spectacular places in Iceland! This picture does not do any justace to the nature this place has to offer!!!

Arinbjörn:Sout East Iceland - This is a must stop if you are in the area. I also recommend going to the Diamond beach which is located on the other side of the main road. There you will see floating icebergs in the black sand beach. Just park at the Glacier Lagoon and walk over to the beach.

Arinbjörn:Reykjanes area (close to Reykjavík) Only a short drive from Reykjavík. If you plan to go to the Blue Lagoon then this destination can be added by taking a short detour.

Arinbjörn:Reykjanes peninsula Beautiful rock formations and landscape mixed with mystical tales. Only a short drive from Reykjavík. If you plan to go to the Blue Lagoon then this destination can be added by taking a short detour.

Arinbjörn:(same place as Seltún) Only a short drive from Reykjavík. If you plan to go to the Blue Lagoon then this destination can be added by taking a short detour.

Arinbjörn:Reykjanes peninsula Only a short drive from Reykjavík. If you plan to go to the Blue Lagoon then this destination can be added by taking a short detour.

Arinbjörn:North Iceland - The capital of the North, definitelly eorth a visit. Recommend visiting kjarnaskógur outdoor area, the swimming pool and the Christmas house. The beer baths are also a fun place to visit.

Arinbjörn:North - Iceland -A great outside area and a small forest with nice and short hiking trails for the whole family. One of my favorite places to go for a family pick nick in North Iceland

Arinbjörn:North Iceland - Amazing rock formations van be found in this lava field. Please note that a paved path leads you through the field so it is very family friendly. Again, not the best picture but a must stop if you are in the area.
