Here are some interesting places in Reykjavik that appeal to both young and old.

Nína:This park in Laugardalur (15 mins from the city centre) offers all kinds of activities for kids of all ages. There's a domestic animal zoo close by, which is very popular with the smallest children.

Nína:Reykjavik has a beach! Families love visiting this centrally located beach - and it's free of charge during the summer.

Nína:Tjörnin (The Pond) is an excellent spot for feeding birds. Kids love feeding bread to the residents there, who are mostly swans, ducks and geese.

Nína:I went whale watching as a kid and I've also done it as an adult. Absolutely loved it both times.

Nína:An excellent museum to visit, particularly if your kids (or you) are into vikings and ancient Nordic culture.

Nína:Parents love to take their kids to the central library. There are loads of books and activities just for kids, and the parents can get a well-deserved break from their children by having coffee and reading a magazine while they are playing.

Nína:This is the first pizza place in Reykjavik. I loved to go there with my parents when I was a kid and I will surely take my kids there when I become a parent myself. The pizzas are quite delicious and the service and atmosphere have been consistently good throughout the years.
