Nice Mosque inside, but the outside is not upkept well. It would be so much nicer if it were regularly cleaned and maintained.

A spectacle! Absolutely magnificent piece of historic architecture. Just needs to be maintained better and kept at a higher standard if tourists are to continuously visit. Negative points for the security checkpoint into the Citadel. There needs to a HIGHER level of professionalism here, and this goes for Egypt’s tourist hotspots. Too much do I see laziness and disregard by staff on site.

Beautiful mosque that is still used for prayers. The gardens and white marbled areas outside the mosque are also quite stunning. Like all the other areas of the citidel, its not touristy and very quiet. A good place to get away from the hustle and bustle of Cairo.

A magestic place with magnificent view. Didn't have enough time to capture it all. Well, I will go there time and again. Note: renovation works are in progress in some parts of the mosque

This is a stunning piece of architecture and and wonderful example of incorporation of different cultures. It was designed and constructed by the ottomans during their period of Egyptian occupation. The design is very grand and huge. Inside its inviting and spacious. The light chandelier is very unique and low hanging. Come during the evening when its cooler and not so hot.
