Where to Stay

Rebecca:Generator is an affordable, but nicely put together hostel in the Smithfield neighborhood of Dublin. Located just next door to the historic Jameson Distillery. Smithfield is about 15 minutes walk to most of the other tourist destinations.

Rebecca:The Aircoach can be prebooked online at https://www.aircoach.ie/. This coach service goes form Dublin Airport to Dublin City Centre. The last stop on this coach is our wedding venue, The Fitzpatrick Castle Hotel.

DoDublin Bus Tours

Rebecca:DoDublin has both a Hop on Hop Off tourist-specific bus tour to all of the most popular tourist spots in Dublin. They also offer a "Freedom Pass" which is 3 days of unlimited Hop on Hop Off and Public Bus use across the city.

Rebecca:A classic brewery museum to learn about Ireland's most famous beer. You can learn how to pour the perfect pint and enjoy one in the Gravity Bar with views of the whole city.

Rebecca:This interactive whiskey distillery experience teaches you the process of making whiskey, the history of Jameson, and provides a tasting.

Book of Kells

Rebecca:The Book of Kells can be viewed in one of the most beautiful libraries of the world at Trinity College. The Book of Kells is an illuminated religious manuscript crafted by Celtic monks around 800 AD.

Kilmainham Gaol

Rebecca:A visit to Kilmainham Gaol will take you on a journey through Irish history. You will discover the stories of people held here as ordinary criminals alongside those who fought for Irish independence. From the 1798 rebellion, to the 1916 Easter Rising, the Anglo-Irish War (1919-21), to the devastation of the Irish Civil War (1922-23) all these important events have a chapter in the story of Kilmainham Gaol.

Rebecca:EPIC has one Europe's Leading Tourist attraction for several years in a row. Here you can learn about the Irish Diaspora and the impacts it has had on a global scale both culturally and economically. You can even book a consultation with a genealogist to explore your own Irish heritage.

Rebecca:Dublin Castle was constructed in the early 13th century on the site of a Viking settlement. Today you can visit medieval underground remains of the original construction and the modern day state apartments.

Rebecca:Christ Church Cathedral has stood in the heart of medieval Dublin for over 1,000 years and is worth a visit to see the beautiful architecture and stained glass.

The Gaiety Theatre

Rebecca:'And Then There Were None' will be showing at The Gaiety Theatre starting September 19th. "Ten strangers are lured to a solitary mansion off the coast of Devon. When a storm cuts them off from the mainland, the true reason for their presence on the island becomes horribly clear."

Rebecca:Grafton Street and Henry Street are two of the most famous shopping districts in Dublin. You'll find everything from souvenir shops to high end department stores.

Rebecca:The 700ft high Cliffs of Moher is one of the top tourist destinations in Ireland. It is a long day out to the Cliffs from Dublin, but well worth it for the view.
