Best Things To Do in Dublin

Owen:What would a trip to Dublin be without a visit to Guinness? Book ahead to make sure of your spot, and enjoy the high tech tour. Learning the history of Guinness ties into the heart of Dublin itself. You can even pour your own pint, and the views at the panoramic bar are the best in Dublin. A must do

Owen:Where do Leprechaun's come from? This whimsical museum teaches the history of storytelling in Ireland. Presented beautifully with lots of fun rooms and excellent guides. Interesting and fun regardless of age and a grrat option if you've got a spare hour or so.

Owen:Larn about the old jail of Dublin and it's murkey past. Prisoners went on to become some of Dublin's biggest leaders and politicians, so this gives you a different flavour to Ireland's history than you get from a brewery tour. Cheap too!

Owen:Sunny day? One of the few green spaces in central Dublin, At Stephen's Green is a beautiful place to have a wander and relax with an ice cream

Owen:Teeling or Jameson's is the big whiskey debate. Neither are a bad choice but we loved Teeling. An old family distillery that's had a massively modern revamp, you really learn about how whiskey is made, alongside the local history of whiskey in the area. And you get a free tasting too!! A good compliment to the Whiskey Musem

Owen:A beautiful bar that's a bit cheaper than others in Temple bar. Plus they've got nightly comedy. Tip, get there on time for the comedy to get a good seat as it's quite snug. Plus all get free ice cream!!

Owen:With rotating exhibitions it's worth seeing what's on. An emphasis very much on 'modern', it's not for everyone. But the building and surround is very pretty, being in Dublin's old hospital

Owen:See one of the most beautifully decorated old books in the world, and learn how it was made. Very interesting, though unfortunately you can't see that much of the actual book - as it's bound together!! The tour culminates in the absolutely stunning library. Think real life Hogwarts. A place where theologians across centuries have studied, it's good to step in their shoes for 15 mins

Owen:For LGBT travellers this was our fave spot. At George has history and is the most famous LGBT bar in Dublin, but this we thought was the most fun. With drag queens playing fun music at the weekend it's good a lively and welcoming atmosphere. Cocktails seemed to be the same price as a pint so ask at the bar - not clearly advertised

Owen:You can get around all of Dublin on foot - and it can be nice to walk along the canals - however if you wish you can take a hop on hop off bus tour. There are a few companies that do this and can make your trip quicker and easier. Especially on wetter days
