San José Free Walking Tour

Had a Saturday morning tour led by Carlos. Very knowledgeable man, likes to talk 😁 and his English is easy to understand. Went to the nearby cathedral, the central market and several others places I wouldn’t have known on my own. He knows everybody in town it seems, LOL. Great with the history of the city and country. Definitely worth doing. Lasted about 2 hours!

We stopped off in San Jose en route from Panama to the rest of Costa Rica and got the impression it was a sprawling and uninspiring city. WRONG! On our return we had a free day before our overnight flight so decided to walk in to the central market and also do this walking tour! What a great finish to our trip, and we found it somehow brought all the separate ‘bits’ of CR together underpinned by a greater understanding of the country as a whole, learned from this walking tour. Knowledgeable guide, great itinerary and a wonderful afternoon. Thoroughly recommended.

Saw some really interesting places that we otherwise would have missed! Sol had some cool facts and interesting historical insights to share. Would definitely recommend going! Everyday at 9am, starting from national theatre in San Jose.

Guille May be one of the nicest and most genuine humans I have met. Their corporate goal is to change ones perspective of San Jose which they do eloquently. MAKE SURE TO GO WITH THE REAL GUYS, they’re imposters trying to steal their business.

This is the free walking tour that starts at 9am everyday at the National Theatre of Costa Rica. I found the guide to be very well informed and I thoroughly enjoyed the tour. It lasts about 3 hours with a bathroom and coffee/tea break in between. San Jose by itself seemed like a very mediocre city. But if you do have some time to spend in the capital city then I definitely recommend this tour.
