Beautiful calm beach away from the crowds 🏝 the beach is very clean and pretty! The water is transparent but there are rocks in some areas. There was a lot of seaweed in April (I’m not sure whether it is a seasonal thing)

Beautiful beach! We had a fun afternoon here watching surfers and playing in the water. Not great for little ones, the water's too rough for littles to play safely.

On Saturday October 13 at 10:40 AM we were robbed on Chiquita Beach by two masked and armed men. One pointed a gun at us, the other carried a machete. They took all of our belongings. The police were able to capture one of the thieves with some of my belongings in his pocket. They know the second person as well. But... the man they apprehended had been in prison on three previous occasions for robbery. Some of my belongings were recovered by the police and returned to me. I am still trying to located my camera and my necklace. Be aware when walking this area of the beach. Avoid if possible. Hopefully the property owners next to the beach make it less easy for thieves to use the jungle as a cover for robbery and terrorizing tourists. If anyone is able to locate and return my camera (or the disk from the camera that has 1000 photos of my trip to Costa Rica) and my necklace, I'll pay a reward. See the photo of both items.
