Via a Piedras Blancas, Medellín, Antioquia, Colombia
It is a very beautiful trip with the mountain lift above the community (Medellin) to the mountains. And the forest and path and atmosphere in the mountains are just as beautiful. The safety is in top and the only downside is you have to walk a lot if you not take the bus to the places you like to see.
It’s a nice park but you can only walk around on big roads without a guide. So if you go there you really need a guide because without a guide you can’t see that much than only roads through a forest and at one place a small river in the forest..it’s like a place for people that are living in a big city and to show them „nature“
This is a great park to go for hikes, it is worth spending an entire day there. I would definitely recommend to take a guide since trails are hard to find otherwise and they know the hidden paths! You can book your trip and guide at the top of the cable car. There is a bus service to drive you back to the cable car if your hike leads you very far way. The bus costs 2000 pesos.
What a beautiful nature reserve within a few minutes of the center of the city. This is a must stop for anyone visiting Medellin Colombia. The cable car ride is very pleasant and scenic as you ascend up the mountain to the park. It's even more so on The Descent. There's a rich biodiversity within the park and archaeological logical displays open to the public with some as active sites being explored by archaeologist. Nice place to have a picnic or some of the local food.
Arvi park was wonderful but after 3 hours of walking and wondering I was over it. I'd recommend going because the cable ride there is great, and once you get there you're met with some friendly locals..
