We did not get much of an impression, when looking at the outside of the building, that the interior would be so large and spectacular. This was like finding a pearl inside of an oyster. We opted to sit for some time at the back of the cathedral before moving to seats up front; different experience in each location.

…………….From outside this massive solid structure stands strong as with most cathedral worldwide the architecture is always impressive. The inside beautiful as ever and bringing able some awareness of the Almighty who this building was erected in honour of. The doors are always open so you can just wander in and observe the sanctity and sit down in a pew and become quiet allowing the serenity of the immaculate-lii created interior to be absorbed. Two events where well-advertised for the 30th June 2019 name-lii Holy Mass and Sacred Heart Procession of Jesus & Collections for the Charities of the Pope. It was a delight to witness this awesome Place of worship…………….

Step into the Metropolitan Cathedral and be amazed. This is certainly one of the darkest cathedral that I've ever visited. Fascinating pieces of art and amazing architecture. This is a must see when you're in Santiago.

Great place. There is good history here including homage to soldiers in the Pacific War between Chile and Peru-Bolivia. Don't miss the crypt below the main altar and a chapel full of silver.

Beautiful building and interior. Tourists could stand to learn how to be more respectful, even if you don't share the faith tradition.
