Interesting place. They make an effort to educate tourists :) fun to watch flamingos, even though there are few. Bare in mind that you are not allowed to get to Chaxa during nesting season. So you will see maybe 10 flamingos at best.

A nice and calm visit. Easy to walk near the flamingos. The views of the lagoon and the mountains are worthy for at least a quick stop. If you rent a car, is a ~50 min drive from San Pedro and the road is ok

Tranquil and Happy - that's how I felt after I left the place "Laguna Chaxa". Flamingo is such rare and beautiful bird. You get to watch them peacefully stroll in the salt flat, sometimes they put their heads underneath the water, sometimes they walk back gracefully or fly across the sky with a curve... it's all so surreal as an out of the world experience - there indeed such rare bird in the world. and live in such a weird place. All the combination just ignite incredible happiness and tranquility in your heart.
