The Banff Hot Springs are super fun. If you forget your suit, I'd recommend renting the historical period-piece Parks Canada suit for less than 2.00 CAD. It's hilarious and comfortable! Towels are also less than 2.00. I wish that the bathing suit return process was a little more streamlined. But don't let that stop you from visiting! And remember to bring your sunglasses, as well as a pair of flip flops.

I visited the Banff Upper Hot Springs in early August 2019 and it was a wonderful way to spend my last day in Banff. The hot springs are located in the town of Banff, next to Sulphur Mountain. I arrived when they opened at 9 AM and was one of the first people there. It became busier as the morning went on, and although there were a lot of people in the pools, it didn’t feel overly crowded and there were still spaces to sit and relax. Although, I much preferred the quiet atmosphere with few people earlier in the morning. The entrance fee was very reasonable at just under $8 per adult. They had towel and swimsuit rentals if you needed and provided me with one token for the single-use lockers (make sure to have everything you need before locking it, or you have to pay for another token). The locker room was clean and spacious. The facilities consisted of one large pool filled with natural hot water from the mountain which is loaded with beneficial minerals. There was a deck around the pool with limited lounge chairs (come early to snag one of those!) and a balcony with views of the surrounding mountains and town. The water was hot and felt lovely on a cooler morning. It was very relaxing to soak in the pool. I spent a few hours there and enjoy my experience. Before arriving, I was expecting the hot springs to have a more natural feel with landscaping and plants and waterfalls of the natural hot springs, as opposed to being a swimming pool. I think this would definitely add a more peaceful feel to the place. Nevertheless, I would still recommend a visit. Arrive early to get a parking spot and lounge chair and enjoy a peaceful atmosphere prior to the crowds.

best money i have spent on our Banff visit. if you are visiting Banff, make sure to visit here. no tour guide required, arrows and signs are very clear on where to go. the fee is only $7.50 Cad and it includes a locker token already! towel is a different rent but very minimal. unplanned? they rent swim suits as well! there will be a short walk upwards as the parking near the facility is limited and prioritized those with blue tags, but it is very short and lighted. the view from above the pool is picture perfect as well, and it may seem crowded, but when dipped in the pool, you wont mind that anymore. there is also a large digital clock facing the pool, so you can remember to cool down every now and then. drinking water dispensers are close by the pool as well. showers and changing areas are good as well, clean, well lit, and very sufficient to move around and change to dry clothes. free dryer boxes are available too, just be patient waiting in line. i came back here 4 times in our 5-day stay in Banff, I am definitely recommending it to all.

I would not recommend. It is a tourist trap. You drive all the way up to the end of the road where you expect to see this amazing “Hot Springs”. The road was FULL of cars lined up with crazy amounts of people walking up. The facility is very dated. Two single stall public restrooms were dirty and out of toilet paper. The lack of restrooms created a jam in the hallway. Changing rooms were downstairs where you enter to go out to the extremely over crowded pool. It was not an experience to share. If you are looking to sit on top of each other and touch random strangers... then this is for you. If not, don’t even show up

Hot springs more like giant hot tub. We spent such a long time getting there then when we do all we see is a hot swimming pool that's not divided into small parts and is filled with people. It would've been nicer if it was what you think a hot spring looks like but it's not.
