If you have time in Banff then the Banff Gondola is well worth the trip. It can be hard to know how long to spend on top of the mountain and it all depends if you want to eat and drink or just sit and looks at the views? I think 3 hours is a minimum time to take as this gives time to walk along the boardwalks and also climb to the top of the peak. Whatever you plan, it is a good idea to look at the photos on Google Maps so that you can see what to expect. It can be much cooler on top of the mountain and so it is a good idea to take a jumper or coat to keep warm. There is a cafe / restaurant and a gift shop and you can change your decent time at the ticket window should you want to stay longer on the mountain

The view at the top is amazing. Alternatively, you can hike up the sulphur mountain trail and save yourself about $60, but bring a bear spray, warm clothes, water, and make sure you're in a good shape. At the top, there are also restaurants, a coffee shop, a museum and a gift shop. You can also do a short hike on a boardwalk to another observation point, called the Sulphur Mountain Cosmic Ray Station. It's an "easy" trail but the air is thin and about 10'C colder. Come prepared.

This place is a must if you are visiting Banff. If you do the gondola ride and dinner it is very economical. The gondola ride provided some incredible views of the valley and alpine. Once at the top, walking around for the different views was exceptional. We ate at the Northern Lights restaurant which was more casual than the Sky Bistro. Good food!

Top attraction in Banff town. Prices are higher but worth it(as long it's not cloudy). Stunning views. Coffee shop, restaurants are decent. They have fire places on top floor, I thought it was a premium touch to whole experience. highly recommend if anyone going to Banff.

Nice experience! 56$ per adult after 5pm! You can walk for free if you want :) !! Very windy and cold up there so dress well for the occasion. Service was nice. Breathtaking views!! Enjoy!!!
