Fabulous exhibits. Some outstanding artifacts. Having seen plenty of museums with Roman artifacts, this small museum had things I had not previously seen. More importantly, not sure why, but it was free.
Take your time and visit it! I'm sure you won't regret it! The tickets are cheap, pay for a guide, the museum has history from 9 thousand years ago.Wow!
One of the most beautiful and amazing museum visited by myself lately.. I would recommended to everyone who is visiting Sofia for a full experience in the history that is delivering to the visitor!! Very luxurious and precious item to see, a big variety of marble statues and a lot more to see...
Superb exhibition showing archeological finds from the region, great focus on late antiquity. The treasure room deserves it name and houses a collection of Roman gold coins minted in Serdica through the ages. There were some items from the times of Krum and Omurteg but would have liked to see more (might not be so many found items in circulation from that time). If you only visit 2 museums during your visit this should be on the list.
I liked it, very big collection of artefacts, you need around 2 hours to visit it, the special chamber for valueable collection is amazing & I loved the mosaic collection as well
