Amanda:We stopped here every year on our way to visit our grandparents in Phoenix for Thanksgiving.

Durango and Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad
Amanda:https://www.durangotrain.com/ If you ever wanted to ride on a narrow gauge railroad, I recommend this one. It is a day trip and leaves from Durango and goes to Silverton and back.

Amanda:Watch out for biting flies in the really hot sommer months. Also, there is a creek that appears and disappears during certain times of the year.

Amanda:Great place to decompress and just walk through at your leisure. Free to enter.

Amanda:A perfect theme park for small children. Your kids can meet Santa and Mrs. Claus and you can send letters from the NorthPole while you are there. It was designed by former Walt Disney artist back in 1955 and has an old fashioned charm.

Amanda:located at the base of Pikes Peak, this is a fun and small cave that kids can easily enjoy. I took my youngest through there in a sling when they were a baby and it was easy to navigate.

Amanda:You can drive all the way to the top but make sure your vehicle can handle lots of braking and you have lots of water on hand. Take your time going up to acclimate to the elevation.

Amanda:Estes Park, the entrance to Rocky Mountain, is a beautifultown to visit. The elk can sometimes a nuissance to locals.
