Place Sainte-Croix, 1050 Bruxelles, Belgium
There is a remarkable transformation of this square on the weekends. Usually a nice open space for meeting and greeting, Place Flagey turns into a fresh produce and food market. Wears are beautifully displayed and happy people gather around the temporary tables and enjoy what looks like delicious food. If you are in Brussels over the weekend, visit this square. At the blink of an eye out is all packed away again. Until the next time.
Flagey is, very much, the heart of Ixelles. There are some great bookshops in this area. A market operates on certain days of the week. There is also a conveniently located tram terminus. Ixelles is known as the coolest area in Brussels and the main reason is Place Flagey. Definitely worth a visit.
The building was easy to find. I credit the big "FLAGEY" sign on it. Very helpful. Inside it was even better. The concert hall was almost perfect (some taller individuals can obstruct your vision but maybe that's not their fault after all).
Aah Flagey. Eugene. We have known each other over the years and my, how you have changed. I'm never sure if it's for the better or for the worse. As lovely and full of beautiful people as it now is, I sometimes yearn for the former years when everything was stained in vompee, you could swim in the lake (if you wanted duck flu/Chlamydia) and smartphones were on Star Trek.
Fantastic Building, asbestos free since 2004. Houses very impressive sound studio's that have amazing acoustics. Also the home of BRUZZ, a fantastic local multi media broadcaster (Radio, Television, print and web).
