Just went and ate at Suzy BBQ. Have been waiting for a Korean joint on the southern end of the coast for about 10 years, so was super excited to finally have one set up shop. First impression was a good one: great ambience, lively, cool modern artwork, right on the Burleigh strip. Kinda reminded me of a Pojangmacha in Korea with a hip twist. Could smell the Korean BBQ right down the street. Menu was simple and sensible from a business point of view. No soups, no fresh food, not a ton of options. There were two of us and we opted for the $49 BBQ set, with two rice and two beers. $124. The banchan (sidedishes) were great. Kept to pretty authentic Korean fare, and was fairly generous, with Kimchi available for a refill on request. No lettice though, which although makes sense from a restaurant point of view, took away from the experience a bit. You gotta roll the meat and rice and Gochujung up in a lettice leaf for a genuine Korean bbq experience IMHO. But not a major issue. Value-wise, there was a bit to be desired. The portions aren't big. Again, not what this place is aiming for. But one slide of Samgypsol (pork strip) and two tiny slithers of loin was dissapointing. At the end of the meal, I was still a little bit hungry. When you spend $125 for two, you want to be full. (see photo) Food was delicious. The bulgogi was outstanding, the wagyu melt-in-the-mouth, the panchan spot-on. The BBQ was gas-powered, not charcoal, but not too fussed by this. Almost impossible to do this safely at a small joint like this, so no biggie. Overall a great experience. If you want a no-fuss, unpretentious Korean BBQ experience with charcoal and lettuce, you might want to make the drive up to Southport. If you want something delicious, local and fun that will leave a smidgeon of room under your belt, Suzy's is your spot. Ambience: 5/5 Taste 5/5 Location 5/5 Service 5/5 Value: 3/5 Overall: 4/5

Spent an enjoyable 2 hours eating and drinking to our hearts content. The food is delicious and the service was amazing. The portion sizes were perfect too. Absolutely recommend Suzy Korean BBQ. It's another great edition to the great restaurants in Burleigh

10/10 for staff, very friendly and helpful, thank you. But the food is not Korean BBQ, the flavor of banchan and texture of kimchi pancake is weird, order wagyu beef and pork jowl is way too many fat.

Really enjoyed our Suzy BBQ experience! Great to see a vegetarian BBQ option and all our food was delicious. Service is very attentive. Main criticism is that the music is extremely loud making it near impossible to talk to each other.

We went to Suzy Korean BBQ & Bar on our recent holiday to Burleigh Heads. The food was amazing! The waiter and waitress were super welcoming and interacting which made our visit enjoyable and memorable. The music and vibe in the venue is super cool. Food was very reasonably priced and any concerns/questions about the menu were addressed by the staff with ease. Amazing staff, vibes, food and time. Thanks for having us guys!
