Country Houses

Image - Blenheim Palace
Blenheim Palace
Hannah Rose:Blenheim Palace is a monumental country house in Blenheim, Oxfordshire, England. It is the principal residence of the Dukes of Marlborough, and the only non-royal, non-episcopal country house in England to hold the title of palace.
Image - Berkeley Castle
Berkeley Castle
Hannah Rose:Berkeley Castle has remained within the Berkeley family since they reconstructed it in the 12th century, except for a period of royal ownership by the Tudors. It is traditionally believed to be the scene of the murder of King Edward II in 1327.

Places to Stay

Image - The Lygon Arms
The Lygon Arms
Hannah Rose:If you enjoy history, the Lygon Arms will help you feel like you've taken a step back in time. Located in the northern Cotswold town of Broadway, you have one of the most beautiful and thriving villages on your doorstep.
Image - The Painswick Hotel & Restaurant
The Painswick Hotel & Restaurant
Hannah Rose:Located in one of the Cotswold's most underrated villages, The Painswick is a fabulous stop for walkers. With delicious food, a cocktail bar and stunning country guestrooms, this is the perfect place to stay.

The Ebrington Arms
Hannah Rose:A great choice for a typical pub experience, the food at the Ebrington Arms is out of this world, service fantastic, and there are a few cosy rooms too!

My Recommendations

Image - Snowshill
Hannah Rose:Snowshill, in my opinion, is the Cotswolds most picturesque and tranquil villages.
Image - Burford
Hannah Rose:Close to Oxford, Burford is full of great pubs, pretty houses and independent shops.
Image - Castle Combe
Castle Combe
Hannah Rose:Quite possibly the most photographed village in England, Castle Combe is just 30 minutes from the stunning city of Bath.
Image - Bradford-on-Avon
Hannah Rose:Located on the River Avon, Bradford on Avon sits also on a beautiful canal!
Image - Painswick
Hannah Rose:With its own local quarry, the buildings of Painswick are much lighter than in the rest of the region. I tend to find this village is much less visited and you can often get it all to yourself.
Image - Chipping Campden
Chipping Campden
Hannah Rose:The perfect location to spend a Sunday afternoon, life in Chipping Campden is pleasantly slow.
Image - Great Tew
Great Tew
Hannah Rose:Much loved by Prince Harry and his wife Meghan, Great Tew is often frequented by celebrities thanks to the nearby Soho Farmhouse. The village pub, the Falkland Arms, is very well regarded.
Image - Bibury
Hannah Rose:Bibury is most well known for Arlington Row, a small row of houses now owned by the National Trust. Once weavers cottages, these homes can be seen in a picture within British passports.
